Priscilla Herreid has played early oboes and recorder with Trinity Baroque Orchestra (New York City), The Handel & Haydn Society, Philharmonia Baroque, Portland Baroque, Venice Baroque (Italy), Juilliard Baroque, Musica Angelica, Mercury, and Tempesta di Mare, and can be heard playing all manner of earlier wind instruments with Piffaro, The Waverly Consort, Hesperus, and Ex Umbris. New-music audiences will sometimes find her singing and playing with the Metropolis Ensemble, the Second Instrumental Unit, Cygnus, and the Momenta Quartet. Last season, Herreid played for the Shakespeare on Broadway productions of Twelfth Night and Richard III, starring Mark Rylance and Stephen Fry, and made her third appearance at the annual Festival Dans les Jardins de William Christie. Herreid’s performances have been called “spirited” by The New York Times and “particularly fine” by the Washington Post. She is a graduate of Temple University (oboe, Louis Rosenblatt) and The Juilliard School (historical performance—baroque oboe, Gonzalo Ruiz).
