Soprano Amanda Sidebottom and lutenist Erik Ryding formed Well-Tuned
Words
in 2011 to explore the rich repertoire of Renaissance and early Baroque
lute songs. Their debut concert season included a recital at the 18th-century
Morris-Jumel Mansion— Manhattan’s oldest surviving house—and a Berkeley
Festival fringe concert. In 2012 they made their first European tour, with
concerts in Milan (Sforza Castle), Paris, and Amsterdam; the following year they
made their second European tour with harpsichordist Rebecca Pechefsky,
playing in Basel and Berlin, celebrating milestone anniversaries of Dowland and
Krebs.
Great Wonder, their first CD, appeared on Quill Classics in 2014. Recent
recitals include collaborations with Brooklyn Baroque, Rebecca Pechefsky, Lisa
Terry, and Jonathan Woody. For more information, see the individual bios for
Amanda and Erik on this website.
